What we look at

Spine, cranium and nervous system — assessed together, not in isolation.

Sound familiar?

Most people are told it's stress, and to wait it out

By the time someone books in with Lily, they've usually been managing on their own for a long while. Here's what that tends to look like.

Discomfort you've learned to live with

Aches, stiffness, tension, pain that comes and goes. Somatic symptoms that never quite resolve, so they get filed under "normal for me".

"It's just stress — I'll manage it."

A nervous system that won't settle

Broken sleep, sluggish digestion, a heart rate that runs hot, mood that swings. When the autonomic nervous system is dysregulated, it shows up everywhere at once.

"Everything's been tested and it's all normal."

A child who's struggling to focus

Learning difficulties, attention and behavioural challenges, poor coordination, unsettled sleep. Often met with discipline or medication before anyone checks the body.

"It's genetic — they'll grow out of it."

Left alone, these patterns tend to become chronic. A quick call is the easiest way to find out whether Lily can help.

Our approach

Non-pharmacological, non-surgical, and always assessed first

Lily doesn't guess. Every plan starts with a clear picture of how your spine and nervous system are actually working — and ends with a re-examination so you can see what changed.

1

Assess the whole system

A neurological and structural examination of the spine, cranium and peripheral skeleton, alongside how your autonomic nervous system is functioning — sleep, digestion, breathing, heart rate, mood.

  • Structural assessment
  • Neurological examination
  • Functional movement
2

Adjust to remove the irritation

Specific chiropractic adjustments to the spine, cranium and peripheral skeleton to address the imbalances found in your examination. Technique is matched to the person — a newborn is not adjusted like an adult.

  • Spinal adjustment
  • Cranial work
  • Paediatric-specific technique
3

Retrain the brain–body connection

Adjustments create the opportunity; neurorehabilitation makes it stick. Specific neuroplasticity exercises rebuild coordination, balance and regulation between the brain, nerves and muscles.

  • Neuroplasticity exercises
  • Balance & coordination drills
  • Laser & red light therapy
4

Re-examine, then decide together

Initial care usually runs twice a week for three weeks, followed by a re-examination. You see what has shifted, and care is adjusted from there — including referral or co-management with your GP, dietitian or mental health practitioner where that's the right call.

  • Progress re-exam
  • Plan review
  • Referral & co-management

Care that works alongside your other practitioners, not against them

Where diet, medication or mental health support is part of the picture, Lily will say so and refer you to the right person. The goal is a body and nervous system that function well — however that's best achieved.

Meet your chiropractor

Dr Lily Lim

Lily is in her 43rd year of clinical practice. In that time she has cared for newborns hours old, teenagers under exam pressure, women through pregnancy and recovery, and adults rebuilding after concussion — often in the same week.

Her work sits at the meeting point of structure and neurology: alongside chiropractic adjustment, she holds post-graduate training in functional neurorehabilitation, using neuroplasticity exercises and light therapy to help the brain and body communicate better.

"People come in describing a symptom. What they usually want is to feel connected to their own body again — and to trust that it's working."

Questions

Before you book

If something isn't covered here, call the practice and ask — happy to talk it through first.

+61 438 833 315

A short, relaxed phone call with Lily's practice. You'll talk through what's going on — your symptoms, history and what you're hoping to sort out — and get a clear sense of whether chiropractic and neurorehabilitation care is likely to help. If it is, we'll book your first in-person appointment. If it isn't, we'll happily point you elsewhere.

Paediatric care is a distinct skill set, which is why Lily completed a Master of Chiropractic Science in Paediatrics and holds the titled status of Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor. Technique for an infant is nothing like technique for an adult — it's light, age-appropriate contact. Everything is explained to you before it happens, and you stay with your child throughout.

Initial care is usually twice a week for three weeks, followed by a re-examination. That re-exam is the decision point: you see what has changed, and you and Lily decide together whether to continue, reduce frequency, or stop. Nobody is signed up to open-ended care.

It's the retraining side of care. Adjustments address the physical irritation; neuroplasticity exercises then help the brain, nerves and muscles coordinate better — balance work, eye and movement drills, and laser or red light therapy to support cellular function. Lily completed post-graduate training in this area and uses it alongside her chiropractic care.

Yes, and Lily would encourage it. Where diet, medication or mental health support is part of the picture, she'll refer you to the appropriate professional and is comfortable co-managing your care. Chiropractic here is one part of a broader approach, not a replacement for it.

The practice is at 309 George St, Sydney NSW 2000 — in the middle of the CBD, a short walk from Wynyard and Martin Place stations. Most patients come by train or on a break from the office. If you're driving in, allow extra time for CBD parking.

Pre and post natal women are a core part of Lily's practice. Care through pregnancy focuses on comfort as your load and centre of gravity change, and afterwards on recovery, posture and the strain of feeding and carrying. Let us know how far along you are when you book.
